About THE WAX Features and Tips

THE WAX" was completed after many samples were made based on the concept of "the world's shiniest wax. In fact, among all the Brift H products, the wax was the one we did not start developing until the very end. In this issue, we would like to introduce some tips on how to use the wax so that you can understand its features and make your feet shine more brightly in the autumn season.

Among all Brift H products, we did not start development of the wax until the last minute because there are already many excellent waxes out there. This is because there are already many excellent waxes in the world, and we felt that there was no need to go to the trouble of developing a Brift H wax.

When we create a product, it is from the shoeshiner's point of view, "It would be nice to have something like this" among the existing shoeshine products in the world. Therefore, we did not intend to develop wax until the very end.

However, there was one problem with waxes in the world. When we started developing this wax in 2016, there was no hard wax (hard wax with high wax content) in the world, and it was common for professional shoe polishers to open the lid of new wax for about a week and let the contents dry before using it. This method was common for professional shoe polishers.

This method has the problem that the drying process can lead to unevenness in the wax, and if left too long, the wax can often become too dry and unusable. Therefore, we set out to develop a wax with maximum wax content so that it could be used immediately from new.

First, we asked the factory to create a formula with the highest wax content possible, and then we made prototypes by gradually loosening the wax until it reached a hardness that was easy to use. The first prototype had so much wax that it was hard like a candle and could not be removed with a finger or even a cloth. From there, we increased the ratio of oil and organic solvents, and after the seventh trial, "THE WAX" was completed.

Once the composition was determined, the next step was to create color variations. Hard waxes produce a glow even when applied in small amounts, so they can be applied more lightly than regular waxes. Therefore, the coloring was made a little darker so that the color can be applied even with a small amount of wax, and the coloring, like THE CREAM, was made to match the color of high-end leathers in the world. We believe that this color is satisfactory for shoe lovers who are particular about shoe polish.

Hard wax is a bit tricky to use because of its high wax content and hardness. I would like to talk about this point at the end.

First of all, when applying the wax with your fingers, warm the wax with the body heat of your hand and let it melt. The middle finger is especially strong, so use a little force to melt it. If you keep digging, you will find a soft part, so after that, use it evenly around the center.

When applying, apply with a little force as it does not stretch well. If you do not apply enough wax, you may feel it sticking to the surface of the leather, so it is better to apply it after getting some wax on your fingers. Please learn the feeling of this area while actually doing it.

If you master the use of THE WAX, you can finish mirror polishing about twice as quickly as usual. Finally, use a softer wax (regardless of manufacturer) to achieve a wet-like shine. Please try to make your feet shine in the coming autumn season, mirror polish is fun!
